My name is Vaman Tyrone X. I am the current co-/former music director at WMUC Radio 88.1 FM College Park, the oldest free form college radio station in the universe.

One day, Chris Henry our former live music director kindly sent me a collection of Elliott Smith songs he had ripped from a CD of a live performance he did at the station in 1997 with Braid. If you have any more info on the session email musicdirector[at]wmucradio.com

I posted it to our Digital Music archive and word got around. We are still trying to rip the original mini-disc it was on that was sent to us by a kind alum.

Please donate to save WMUC, we need the money to record the future Elliott Smiths and forget it about for a while until it’s important: http://tinyurl.com/savewmuc

Enjoy Elliott and ‘new’ track “Misery Let Me Down”:

Don’t believe much of what you read in the Washington Post or on Elliott Smith fan sites as they have most details wrong and the dead sea mini disc scroll has thus far remained untouched but will soon be touched for a higher quality version.

To recap: Chris Henry finds CD a while back, rips it. I find out he has it. I ask him to send. He sends it to me. Other people feel vindicated and important.

Anything else about dusty mini-discs and missed connections and the alternative Gods possessing the drunkards and criminals at WMUC to spread a lost recording of the teachings of His Earnestness/The Tupac of Rap is incidental and wrong.

Prosecute his girlfriend. Listen to Big Star. Feel free to change your minds constantly about the quality of Good Will Hunting.
